Mirror, Mirror Not On My Wall

Jamie and I were wandering the upscale store, Fred Meyers, when my eye caught a display of mirrors. I don't own a full length mirror, mine are all vanity mirrors (but what else do you use a mirror for if not for vanity.) I thought to myself Carpi Diem, Seize the Day!!! I decided to buy myself a full length mirror. I pulled one from the display, held it up a few seconds and placed it back from whence it came. Jamie wondered why I had chosen not to get the mirror, it was on sale after all. "Wrong one," I told him, "that one made me look fat."

The Motherly Connection

Shasta our cat had a batch of kittens this morning. Watching her care for her brood of five and knowing that she must care for some while more are waiting to be born. What a patient process she must go through. There's a connection between all things female. We can relate on the most intimate level, looking into each others eyes I feel the connection. The understanding and most of all the compassion I feel for this mother who just gave birth. Who has weeks ahead of her, with doing not much else, but snuggling and feeding her little ones. I must admit the snuggling and feeding does lend me to an edge of envy.

Random words that comfort...

On sunday during sunday school, I found these words of comfort. I have to admit it wasn't from the lesson but from an Ensign I had toted along in my bag that I pulled out to read when my mind wasn't willing to focus on the lesson.

Pres. Hinckley said, "The best food storage is not in welfare grain elevators but in sealed cans and bottles in the homes of our people." Since, this past week I have spent hours with family and friends preserving fruit, I loved seeing those words.

Coming into the world of bloggers

Today was like any other day, except I decided to share a part of myself. A place besides my journal to give into my random musings. Displaying a little of me on this world wide web.
I love to read blogs. Many I have found through reading one blog and then a link to another. Many are inspiring, some thought provoking, some bring laughter and some are just down right too perfect for me. So here, I am not sure what you will find, but it will be honest, if nothing else.
